Zeta Function Machine of Alan Turing
Yeditepe University
While doing my bachelor, Prof. Dr. K. Ilhan Ikeda from the YU Mathematics Department offered to work together on a presentation about the never completed "Zeta-Function Machine" for the Alan Turing workshop that would take place in our university.
This was a challenging task, as "The Turing's zeta-function machine" was only partially built before the start of the WWII, with no parts surviving today. After our research we could find one technical drawing of the proposed machine, which you can check here. Although incomplete and cryptic in nature, I modeled the machine on Solidworks and prepared a kinematic assembly to show how the machine might have functioned.

We presented our work to an audience of multiple departments and international universities and received great feedback. To our knowledge, this was the first attempt to create 3D model of the machine. Our contribution was published in an online journal of the Ankara University in 2012.
You can see the my notes I took on the technical drawings here as I tried to read the technical drawing.
